Trafalgar Cottage 2007/2008
One of the oldest fisherman’s cottages in Brighton needed to be converted into a home for a small family.
Due to the size of these houses, we looked very closely at the use of space.
We found a system of old french lockers for housing the children’s toys and clothes, and the computer was tucked away behind a cupboard door.
To start with, the house was quite plain, but use of beautiful antique encaustic tiles brought colour and pattern to an otherwise lifeless interior.
The budget was small so we had to be canny - buying lots of individual items in auctions and spending money wisely. |
