Black Lamb House   2008

We worked with a local architect to extend and renovate this dilapidated grade II listed cottage in the Ouse valley in a glorious setting overlooking a 10th century church.

The project involved the renovation of the 17th century section of the house plus almost doubling the size of the house with a sympathetic new extension.

The extension was flint-faced and huge, ancient oak beams were reclaimed from a Sussex barn, sand blasted and brought in to provide both structural support and an amazing living room ceiling.

Reclaimed wood floors, lime rendered interior walls and the use of blue stone flags in the kitchen helped blend the old and the new and gave the whole house an authentic but comfortable and individual look.
